Connecticut Storytelling Festival 2009 is both

Fun and Inspiring!!!!!!

Tellers, Attendees, Vendors and even the Weather

made for a Great Event!!!!!!!

Log onto www.connstorycenter.org to find out more about the Storytelling Festial and moreof what the CT Storytelling Center can offer to your school, library, or specail event.  Below are some of the performances and people I had the good fortune to be with over the weekend.

There was Music as well as Stoytelling.  (Left) Sanga of the Valley set the tone with High Energy and great music as he accompanied Linda Humes telling stories from Africa.

Friday night the Festival opened with storytelling by Linda Humes and Sanga of the Valley.  They were followed by a incredible group of four, two brothers and two sisters, quadruplets named Carol, Martina, Ray, and Kenny Crouch from Danbury.  They had the crowd laughing and thinking with their Anansi Story.  Next up was Hugh Hanley www.hughhanley.com who told a wonderful story of a catepillar that fools a rabbit.   A wonderful series of mask stories followed by Larry Hunt and Adelka Polak.  The audience was on the edgo of their seats one moment and laughing another.  Jay O'Callahan ended the night with his "Red Ball" story and "Woe is Me Bones".

I was working with the stage and sound crew for Friday night's and Saturday morning's performances.  It was a privilege and honor to help out all these wonderful performers.

I worked with Ro, Bill, Joe, Ken, Brian, and others.  We worked quick and with thoughfullness to make it a Great Experience for all.  It seemed to work.

I think everyone would benefit by experiencing a CT Storytelling Festival, (the last weekend in April) and once you go, you will always come back. Again check out www.connstorycenter.org for more info.
